Motorcyclist taken to hospital with serious injuries

Battlefords RCMP have released more details about a serious accident that occurred on Highway 16 east of North Battleford Thursday morning.

Police received a report about the collision around 11:25 a.m. Officers determined a motorcycle collided with the back of a semi. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature. No one in the semi reported injuries. Police did not say if any charges were pending.

Eastbound lanes of the highway were re-routed briefly during the initial response, but have since re-opened. Battlefords RCMP continues to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
