Saskatoon Police are looking for Kendell Ameech, a 28-year-old man from the Kinistin First Nation in connection with the murder of Melissa Duquette earlier this year.

Duquette, age 24, was found deceased in the basement of a home in Saskatoon. She had family connections to the Battlefords.

Ameech had an active warrant for his arrest in 2022 for charges of forcible confinement and an aggravated assault in Montreal Lake.

Sundance Okemaysim and Kevin Keenatch were arrested and charged with the first degree murder of Duquette in Saskatoon yesterday

Okemaysim was one of five men who were part of an attack that killed Jason Bird during a riot in the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in 2016. He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in 2019.

If you have any information regarding Ameech’s whereabouts, police advise not to approach but to call 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
