Teenager arrested after armed robbery
A 17-year-old boy from North Battleford is facing several charges following an armed robbery in the city last Friday.
Police responded to the call shortly after 3 p.m. on 107 Street. A group of individuals wearing black face masks, armed with machetes and a firearm, exited a grey SUV and approached a man walking along the street. The suspects pointed the firearm at the victim and demanded his wallet. No physical injuries were reported.
Two days later, Battlefords RCMP were responding to a call for service in the Fourth Avenue area of Battlefords. One of the suspects in the robbery was spotted and arrested by the police.
Following further investigation, the 17-year-old was charged with several offences, including failing or refusing to comply, robbery with a firearm, and pointing a firearm. He remains unidentified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
