Jun 24, 2024 | 12:39 PM

Noting how personal songwriting is and the work that goes into sharing stories that come from your personal life, Prince Albert’s Joshua Stumpf says for other people to appreciate it is both cool and unique.

Stumph was a co-winner of this year’s Emerging Artist Award at the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards., The awards gala was held on Saturday in Lloydminster at the Vic Juba Theatre

“It was just really cool to be recognized for the work you do, countless time you spend creating something,” he said.

With only about a years experience in the music industry, Stumpf acknowledged the past year has been very busy and his phone has been ringing off the hook for bookings including the Dog Patch Music Festival in Loon Lake on July 26. He also plans to go to Nashville this summer to work on songwriting.

Big winners of the night included Jake Vaadeland, who won four awards including Male Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Video of the Year and Interactive Artist of the Year.
