One killed in Saturday morning house fire

An early morning house fire in North Battleford has claimed the life of one person.

The North Battleford Fire Department (NBFD) were called to the home in the 2100 Block of 95th Street shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Upon extinguishing the blaze, crews found and recovered the remains of one deceased person inside the home. The victim’s identity has not been released.

One other person was home when the fire broke out, but they managed to escape safely. No injuries or damage to nearby structures were reported.
