STARS Lottery returns to Saskatchewan, supporting air ambulance service
The STARS Lottery is back in Saskatchewan, with thousands of prizes being offered and proceeds supporting the helicopter air ambulance service.
The lottery is the organization’s biggest annual fundraiser, and typically generates around a third of the funding needed to allow the service to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The funds will also allow STARS to add more technology to its operations.
Katherine Emberly, president and CEO of STARS, said ticket sales directly support the organization’s mission to provide live-saving care whenever and wherever it’s needed.
“Every dollar raised through the lottery goes directly to our operations so we can continue providing the best care on peoples’ worst days,” Emberly said in a statement.
