Apr 11, 2024 | 12:27 PM

A trial originally scheduled for April 8 for two suspects in the death of Edward (Ted) Keith Geddes has been postponed.

According to the Court of King’s Bench in Battleford, the new date is still to be confirmed.

A publication ban is in effect until both of the accused have gone through the court process.

Sixty-year-old Robert “Bob” Welsey Pich and 72-year-old John Robert Gregoire were charged in February of 2022. The accused both hail from the Baldwinton area, where Geddes was also from, roughly 50 minutes west of the Battlefords.

A decade old investigation resulted in the arrests for two men from the Baldwinton area in February 2022.

Both Pich and Gregoire are charged with first degree murder and kidnapping with a firearm. Pich has an additional charge of careless use of a firearm, while Gregoire also faces one count of indecently interfering with human remains.

In this historical case, Edward (Ted) Keith Geddes’ remains were found in the Baldwinton, Sask., area in October of 2022. The sixty-four year old was previously reported missing after being last seen in April 2011 in the area.
