Three weeks since news was leaked that Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) was planning to conduct a financial audit of the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN), there’s some additional information being provided.

According to a statement provided to paNOW, the ISC confirmed plans to conduct a forensic audit and also noted that they were aware that the notification letter sent to the FSIN, had been shared on social media.

“At this time, we expect the audit to cover expenditures related to all funding for the period covering April 1st, 2019, to March 15, 2024, however, reserve the right to adjust the period of review based on the findings of the audit,” the statement said.

In total, since 2019, ISC said it has provided $141,096,331.90 to the FSIN.
