AAA Sharks kick off semi-finals series with Regina
For the first time in franchise history, the Battlefords AAA Sharks are circling the waters on semi-final playoff action in the Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League (SFU18AAAHL).
Coming off a big 2-0 series win in their first round best-of-three with the Swift Current Wildcats, the Sharks now draw the top-seeded Regina Rebels in round two, who are coming off a bye in the opening round.
Sharks’ captain, Greir Slabaida said heading into the semi-finals series, the team is feeling good, and excited to get back out there against a strong Rebels team.
“It’s truly an exciting feeling [to advance to the semis] and the whole team is ready to battle against Regina,” Slabaida said. “The AAA Sharks haven’t made it to round two in a long time, or in league history to the best of my knowledge, so it’s cool to see that milestone. It’s nice to see everyone’s hard work has paid off.”
