Tax season is underway; free clinics now open in the Battlefords
As the winter slowly gives way for spring, tax season is officially open.
To help those within a certain income bracket, there are free clinics available in North Battleford courtesy of several organizations.
“There’s certain things we can’t do. We’re only able to do simple ones ‘cause we are just volunteers,” said Executive Director, Erin Katerynych of the Battlefords Food Bank.
Clinics are now open for the next month and according to the Canada Revenue Agency website, the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) offers eligible people including students, newcomers, and seniors with modest incomes an opportunity to have their taxes filed online and in a timely fashion.
