Monday is a snow day for youngsters of the Battlefords, as all the schools in the Living Sky School Division and Light of Christ Catholic Schools will be closed.
The decision comes after a major winter storm descended on northwestern Saskatchewan which shut down the communities and as a result, are now working on digging out of the 25 to 40 cm of snow.
According to the LSKYSD release issued earlier this evening, the division spoke with local communities about the wintery situation and “due to safety concerns and to support snow removal efforts” decided to keep the doors shuttered.
Meanwhile, both school divisions are expected to resume normal operations on Tues., Mar. 5.
