Fire destroys unoccupied home in North Battleford

A fire has completely destroyed a home in North Battleford.

Local firefighters were called to the house on 102^nd Street early Tuesday morning. The North Battleford Fire Department said the house was unoccupied at the time but deemed a complete loss as a result of the fire.

Fire crews remain on the scene and as a result, 15th Avenue between 101st and 102nd Streets is closed to all traffic. This impacts the 15th Avenue entrance of McKitrick Elementary School, which is currently inaccessible by vehicles.

Those closures are expected to be lifted around 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
