Free program teaches ‘cultural humility’ to begin February 1 at North Battleford Library
A free program to help the community learn cultural humility will be offered over the month of February at the North Battleford Library.
“We’re just talking about being sensitive towards different cultures and Aboriginal people and things like that, that’s what our program’s about,” said Jackie Kennedy, executive director with the Battleford Indian and Métis Friendship Centre.
The three-hour classes will take place every Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m., in the library’s lecture theatre and is open to anyone in the community. The friendship centre staff will be presenting information on how to be culturally aware, improve relationships, inclusivity and learning accountability.
“We didn’t take a registration or anything like that, we’re hoping that the community will take advantage of it,” she said.
