Delays expected

Many semis involved in crash near Maidstone

A number of semi tractor-trailers have been involved in a crash in the Maidstone area.

Police reported at about 12 p.m. today that Maidstone RCMP are currently at the location of a multi semi collision on Highway 16’s eastbound lanes at the junction with Highway 21.

No serious injuries have been reported to police but it’s expected the highway will be closed for several hours as clean-up of the roadway continues.

Detours are in place but motorists should expect delays in the area. Drivers are advised to follow the instructions of emergency personnel at the location.

Officers ask that motorists drive with caution as there are emergency personnel working in the area and fog is affecting visibility.
