One arrested, RCMP looking for second suspect in Pelican Narrows assault

Pelican Narrows RCMP are investigating a serious assault on Boxing Day.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., a group of people approached a woman and assaulted her.

RCMP says she suffered serious injuries.

20-year-old Shante Beatty and 18-year-old Aiden Charles, both of Pelican Narrows, each face charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Beatty was arrested later that day and was slated to appear in court on Monday.

Charles has not been found and police are asking the public for help finding him.

He’s described as 5’7″ and approximately 200 lbs. He has brown eyes and short brown hair and is known to frequent areas around Pelican Narrows and La Ronge.

RCMP believe there may be additional suspects and the investigation continues.
