The Battlefords RCMP have laid charges against three men from Red Pheasant First Nations following a traffic stop on December 13.

According to an RCMP report, the Crime Reduction Team from North Battleford saw a vehicle speeding on Mosquito, Grizzly Bear’s Head, Lean Man First Nation. Once they pulled the driver over, officers “seized a loaded and modified semi-automatic firearm with a high-capacity magazine from the back of the car.”

Two passengers were arrested along with the driver, who initially resisted.

A 35-year-old was charged with 15 offences including fire-arm charges, two counts of assaulting an officer and resisting arrest.
