High school assault

High school student in hospital following assault at school

One teen boy is in hospital and a second in police custody following an incident at the Pelican Lake First Nation.

Spiritwood RCMP were called to the school today at about 12:30 for a reported serious assault.

Officers responded immediately and found the injured teen and had him transported to hospital with injures that were described as serious.

A second teen has been taken into custody, but no charges have been laid.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and will provide updates as they are available. The public will be notified if there is an imminent risk to public safety.
