L.P. Miller girls win 4A provincial volleyball championship

The L.P. Miller Bears have been crowned provincial champions.

The 4A girls’ provincial volleyball championship was held this past weekend in Moose Jaw and the Bears were dominant on the court, losing only two sets throughout the entire tournament.

After going 4-0 during round robin play, the Bears faced Humboldt in the quarter-finals and won 2-0.

The Bears faced Meadow Lake in the semis and achieved the same result.

In the finals, the Bears faced a very formidable opponent in John Paul II from North Battleford.

After winning the first set 25-17, the Bears dropped the next one 25-13.

The final set came down to the wire, but the Bears prevailed and won 18-16.

In 2022, the Bears finished fourth and they came second in 2019.

JPII has finished second the past three years.The provincial volleyball championships will continue this weekend with 1A to 4A boys teams competing.
