Nov 13, 2023 | 2:33 PM

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Showcase kicks off Monday at Warman’s Legends Centre, with the league’s two hottest teams set to clash on opening night.

The Battlefords North Stars enter play on a six-game winning streak, sitting second in the Nutrien Division and third overall in the league standings with a 12-6-0-1 record.

The Bruins are currently on a five-game winning streak, and sit first in the Viterra Division and fifth overall in the league standings at 9-6-0-2.

Both teams enter play led by their captains, who have recently been named to the SJHL Players of the Week.

North Stars’ blue liner Tanner Gold has been named the Defenceman of the Week for the second time in the last four weeks, with four points (one goal, three assists) over his last two games.

Bruins’ centerman, Keagon Little is the Saskatchewan Player of the Week, with four assists over his team’s back-to-back wins over Melville.

Monday’s NAPA Auto Parts North Stars Broadcast will be available on 1050 CJNB with the Ultra Print Pregame Show slightly later than usual at 7:15 p.m.
