BGC Battlefords celebrates ‘A Night of Stars’ with 23rd anniversary gala

BGC Battlefords is going Hollywood and will celebrate with ‘A Night of Stars.’

The not-for-profit organization is gearing up for its 23^rd anniversary gala and is once again looking forward to the annual fundraiser that works to help children and families. It’ll take place at the Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts and has already sold out.

“It is our largest fundraiser, and it is incredibly vital to the sustainability of our organization,” Nicole Combres, executive director of BGC Battlefords.

The event will take place on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 5:30 p.m., and will feature a catered dinner from Blend Kitchen and Bar and raffles, draws, and auctions.

“Members of the community come together, they enjoy a nice night out,” she said.

“They come knowing that they’re supporting an organization that is supporting children, youth and families of the Battlefords. So, every dollar that’s raised at this fundraising event stays here locally.”

BGC works to provide a safe space for those in need, while offering activities, school programs and mentorship.

Combres said the fact that the event has already sold out speaks to the community’s unwavering support to the organization.

“When you come to the event and you have an opportunity to see first-hand some of the impacts that’s made just by attending the club or being part of the organization. It’s pretty incredible and so, we’re really grateful to the community.”
