The RCMP urges Snapchat users to inform police if they’ve connected with the following handles: Maximum_max11, MaxxyMaxlove, Stretch_Enjoyer.

A 29-year-old Regina man is accused of communicating with a youth victim over the social media app, resulting in charges of sexual assault, sexual interference and possession of child pornography.

Investigators believe there may be other victims and want to find them.

A widespread investigation began in Saskatchewan in July and expanded to British Columbia.

On September 30, B.C. officers executed a search warrant at a West Kelowna home, where they arrested the man.

During the search, officers seized electronics as evidence.

The accused was transported back to Saskatchewan on October 2, and made his first court appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court on October 3.

Police are cautioning youth to be vigilant when speaking with strangers online. Parents are encouraged to discuss safety precautions with their children.

The RCMP will not identify the accused or provide specific details about the investigation to protect the victim’s identity. They will also abide by a publication ban requested.
