Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by car in La Ronge

A person suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in La Ronge.

Just before 4:00 p.m. Friday, RCMP responded to the incident at La Ronge Avenue and Nunn Street.

The initial investigation found that the lone occupant of the vehicle, an adult man, tried to flee the scene on foot but was stopped by bystanders who prevented him from leaving until police arrested him.

There has been no update on the pedestrian’s condition since the incident.

The intersection was closed for a lengthy period of time as police conducted their investigation, but it has since reopened.
