Battlefords Humane Society set to euthanize multiple cats to stop spread of deadly feline disease

Sep 27, 2023 | 5:42 PM

Multiple cats at the Battlefords Humane Society are set to be put down due to a deadly disease.

It was discovered that the facility had a large outbreak of feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) among its cat population. According to VCA Canada, this disease is almost always fatal.

To stop it from spreading, the Humane Society has decided to euthanize a large number of their cats. They didn’t specify how many would be put down.

The Humane Society said they’re working with a local Veterinary Clinic to make sure this is done as humanely and smoothly as possible.
