DRUG TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATION

Several drugs and firearms seized from homes in Macklin

Two people from Macklin have been arrested and charged as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking.

On Sept. 14, Unity RCMP searched two properties in the community and found a number of firearms and drugs including cocaine, meth, psilocybin, and pharmaceuticals.

Officers also seized drug trafficking paraphernalia and a sum of cash.

Investigators are still working on identifying all drugs seized and are totalling the amounts.

A man and woman from Macklin were arrested and face numerous charges including possession of controlled substances, possession for the purpose of trafficking and carrying unlicensed firearms.
