RCMP search for suspects after attempted theft south of Unity

RCMP from Unity, Cut Knife and Keerobert are searching for suspects allegedly involved in an attempted theft in the RM of Tramping Lake.

It happened on Monday night around 6 p.m. at a property in the RM.

Police believe several unknown people drove onto the property in a black pickup truck and tried to steal vehicles.

A witness said they followed the truck as it fled the property when a second pickup, a white Dodge, approached and a gun was fired. The witness was not injured.

The black pickup truck is a 2013 GMC 2500 Denali, believed to have Saskatchewan license plate 340 KCC. It was last seen in the RM of Senlac, northwest of Unity.

The truck was reported stolen from Kindersley at around 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

The white Dodge crew cab has an orange beacon on it. It was last seen southeast of Unity.

RCMP said that if you see these vehicles, do not approach them and call RCMP at 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
