Investigation underway in North Battleford as man found dead one day after being assaulted

RCMP are investigating what they believe to have been a homicide in North Battleford.

On Wednesday, officers were called to a vacant house on 102^nd Street where they found a deceased man.

He’s since been identified as 37-year-old James Barbaric.

RCMP say he was the victim of an alleged assault the day earlier on the same street in North Battleford. He was treated on-site by EMS for minor injuries.

At this time, police aren’t confirming if the two incidents were related.
