SaskTel outage impacting communities in northwest Sasktchewan

UPDATE: Services were restored at 2:40 p.m.

Several communities in the northwest are currently without internet access.

According to SaskTel, this is currently impacting Beauval, Buffalo Narrows, Dillon, Dore Lake, Green Lake, Ile-a-la-Crosse, La Loche, the Clearwater River Dene Nation, Palmbere Lake, Patuanak, Sled Lake, Turnor Lake, Waterhen Lake, and Waterhen Lake First Nation.

They explained this is due to a damaged fibre cable near Meadow Lake.

SaskTel said they have crews working on fixing the issue, however, they don’t have an exact timeline for when it’ll be resolved.

Meanwhile, Saskatchewan RCMP noted the outage is also affecting their operations.

People needing to talk to the police are being asked to go to their local detachment.

  • Green Lake RCMP is located on 122 3rd Avenue
  • Beauval RCMP is located on 9 Laliberte Avenue
  • Ile a la Crosse RCMP is located on Parcel 6 Lajeunesse Ave
  • Buffalo Narrows RCMP is located on 300 Pedersen Ave
  • Turnor Lake RCMP (satellite of Buffalo Narrows Detachment) is located on 1 Mathieu
  • Dillon RCMP (Satellite of Buffalo Narrows Detachment) is located on 218 Sylvestre St., in Buffalo River Dene Nation
  • La Loche RCMP is located on 1D Laloche Ave
  • Pinehouse RCMP is located on Lot 13, Block 2, Hilltop Avenue
  • Fond du Lac RCMP is located on 243 Main Road
  • Patuanak RCMP is located on 102 1st Street, in English River
