BUH to see operating room upgrades; surgical services temporarily postponed
The Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) will see its surgical services temporarily postponed while upgrades are underway to the operating room.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) announced plans for infrastructure improvements at the BUH in a media release on Thursday.
“We are pleased to inform residents of North Battleford and area of the upcoming major capital infrastructure improvements to the Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) operating room. These enhancements mark a significant step towards improving patient care, enhancing safety, and delivering exceptional health-care services,” the SHA stated.
To ensure the smooth progress of these improvements, temporary changes to surgical services will be in effect. Beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, surgical services will be temporarily unavailable at the BUH. Surgical services will resume at half capacity at 8 a.m. on Aug. 1. Full resumption of surgical services is expected on Aug. 8 at 8 a.m.
