Sask. Party nomination meeting planned for Thursday
The Battlefords Saskatchewan Party Constituency Association is getting ready for its nomination meeting to run this Thursday in North Battleford.
Registration will take place at 6 p.m., with the meeting set to start at 7 p.m., at the Air Cadets Hall at 792 111 Street.
As no other individuals submitted their nomination papers for the constituency by the closing date July 6, the Saskatchewan Party confirmed incumbent Jeremy Cockrill will be acclaimed at the meeting as its candidate in the province’s next general election, expected to be held in October of 2024.
Patrick Bundrock, Saskatchewan Party executive director, said the meeting will be called to order by the constituency president. Then, Cockrill will be formally acclaimed, and give his acceptance speech.
