Edam resident receives Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal

Surrounded by friends and family in the community that he has called home for over 101 years, Edam’s Thomas Terpstra was recently presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal.

Terpstra is a Second World War veteran who served overseas in the Air Force and is still an active member of his local Legion branch.

Terpstra was visibly moved and offered his heartfelt gratitude for receiving such an honour.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal recognizes those who have made a contribution to Canada, Saskatchewan, or to a particular region or community.

The medal is given to honour Her late Majesty for her service to Canada. A total of 7,000 medals will be awarded to deserving citizens across Saskatchewan. Recipients are of all ages, from all walks of life.
