Family of missing woman Ashley Morin still hope for answers
Family and supporters of missing North Battleford woman Ashley Morin took part in a walk in North Battleford Sunday to continue to raise awareness that Morin has still not been found.
Morin, 31, of Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation, was last seen on July 10, 2018. One of the locations she was last seen was on the corner of 96 Street and 16 Avenue in North Battleford at about 9:30 p.m. A two-toned panel van, with no rear windows, was seen at the same location around the same time. RCMP said in July 2019, a year after their investigation, they believe Ashley Morin was the victim of a homicide.
“Today marks five years – 1,826 days – since my baby sister was last seen,” Janine Morin, Ashley’s sister, said in her Facebook post. “Imagine the pain my family and I have been through in the past five years. The tears, the gut-wrenching ache in our hearts. I still remember the day we went in to report her missing, the confusion, the inability to understand what I was about to do. I never in my worst nightmare imagined five years later I’d be begging for someone to come forward and help to end this unbearable pain. I can’t count the tears that I have wiped from my mom’s cheek, I can’t even explain how tough it is to hug my mom, my brother and my dad and tell them: ‘We ain’t giving up, we will bring her home.'”
Janine noted she appreciates all those who have been there to offer support to the family since Ashley has been missing.
