Beauval RCMP asking public for help in search for suspect after theft from vehicle

Jul 1, 2023 | 11:57 AM

RCMP are asking the public to keep an eye out for a wanted man following a theft from a vehicle at a business in Beauval on Tuesday.

Police say that their initial investigation determined that a man and woman attempted to steal gas from a vehicle before they broke into and stole numerous items from the vehicle. The two then left in a truck.

A short time later, police found the woman driving the truck and initiated a traffic stop. She was arrested without incident, charged, and released with conditions. She is scheduled to appear in Beauval court on August 16.

At around 7 p.m. that same day, RCMP executed a search warrant at a home in the town, resulting in the recovery of multiple items reported stolen in Beauval over the last year. Police say they are working on identifying the owners of the stolen items and returning them.

Following the investigation, police have charged 57-year-old Dennis Burnouf from Beauval with:

– Mischief under $5000

– Theft under or equal to $5000 from a motor vehicle

– Possession of break-in instruments

– Possession of Property obtained by Crime of $5000

– Wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an offence

Burnouf is described as approximately 5’7” and 155 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. Police are working on obtaining a photo.

RCMP added that there is an increased police presence in the community as police continue to their investigation.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Dennis is being asked to contact Beauval RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
