RCMP investigate fatal collision in Biggar area

RCMP continue to investigate following a serious collision in the Biggar area, in which an elderly man died.

On June 14 at about 10 a.m., officers received a report of a collision on Hwy. 14, between Kinley and Perdue.

The initial investigation determined a westbound pickup truck and an eastbound semi collided. A westbound SUV then also collided with the pick-up truck.

The driver and sole occupant of the pickup truck was declared deceased by EMS at the location. He has been identified as an 85-year-old man from Foam Lake. His family has been notified.

The driver and sole occupant of the SUV was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The driver and sole occupant of the semi was assessed by EMS at the location.

Hwy. 14 was closed during the initial investigation but has since reopened.

Biggar RCMP continue to investigate, assisted by a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
