RCMP close historical death case
Saskatchewan RCMP have confirmed human remains found last April at the Big Island Lake Cree Nation Landfill, belong to a man who was reported missing almost 10 years prior.
Randy Wallace George’s death is not believed to be suspicious in nature.
George was 38 years old when he was first reported missing to Pierceland RCMP in July 2013. He had been dropped off on Hwy #21 near the north side of the Big Island Lake Cree Territory and was last seen walking north on the highway.
The remains were found on the afternoon of April 21, 2023, and roughly three days later, a forensic autopsy was conducted by the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. The autopsy determined the human remains belonged to an adult male, who had been deceased for approximately 10 years.
