May 23, 2023 | 3:22 PM

Police have arrested three suspects after investigating several incidents in west-central Saskatchewan and appealing to the public for tips about a grey pickup truck.

On May 17 around 8:10 p.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of an assault on Moosomin First Nation.

When officers arrived, investigators found out there was an altercation between a man and a woman which left the woman injured after a firearm was discharged.

She was taken to hospital with what police said were non-life-threatening injuries.

Around 11:45 p.m. officers from the Battlefords RCMP Gang Task Force found a Ford F-350 Super Duty truck. The day prior, police asked the public to report sightings of the truck as it was involved in several criminal incidents. Officers determined the truck was also connected to the assault reported on Moosomin First Nation.

Police attempted a traffic stop, but the driver of the truck did not stop and continued to drive through local roads, several fields and then onto Territorial Drive in North Battleford. Police said the truck stopped in a ditch and two people inside were arrested without incident.

A third suspect fled on foot but was apprehended shortly afterwards. The individual was later released without charge.

The thorough investigation included members from Saskatchewan RCMP’s North Battleford Provincial General Investigation Section, Battlefords RCMP Gang Task Force and Battlefords, Maidstone, Cut Knife, Biggar and Warman detachments.

Numerous charges were laid in the incident and in relation to a robbery in Maidstone, two flights from police incidents and a theft at a rural property.

Both are scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on May 24.
