SaskEnergy conducting controlled flares near Biggar this week
SaskEnergy announced it will conduct controlled natural gas flaring at its block-valve site in the Rural Municipality (RM) of Biggar, north of the town of Biggar, near Biggar Regional Park this week.
The flare will run intermittently from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., April 24 to 27, subject to change, based on operating requirements.
Residents and drivers in the area may see a 12-metre flame being emitted from the flare stack temporarily attached to SaskEnergy’s infrastructure.
According to the release, the flaring is necessary to perform maintenance work on the natural gas line system in the area, and helps SaskEnergy’s delivery of safe and reliable natural gas to its customers.
