Two people are facing charges related to recent break-ins reported in the Turtle Lake area.

Police say Turtleford RCMP received a report of a break-in in progress at a property in Turtle Lake on April 12.

Officers immediately responded and located the suspect vehicle travelling on Highway 796. Police attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle failed to pull over.

Shortly after, officers found it stuck on a nearby property.

One occupant was arrested near the vehicle, and the other was arrested after a brief search.

Police found and seized a number of items in the vehicle. After investigating, they determined the items had been reported stolen during recent break-ins in the area.

With the help of Saskatchewan RCMP Battleford General Investigation Section, a search warrant was executed at a property in Brightsand Lake on April 15, as part of the investigation.

Officers located and seized two snow machines, a flat-deck trailer and a kayak reported stolen in separate break-ins in Turtle Lake in April.

Saskatchewan RCMP Forensic Identification Services also assisted with the investigation.

Two people from Brightsand Lake are facing charges.

Travis Whiting, 40, is charged with flight from peace officer, break and enter with intent, and possession of property obtained by crime. He is scheduled to appear in court in St. Walburg on June 20.

Michelle Delorme, 31, is charged with flight from peace officer, break and enter with intent, and possession of property obtained by crime. She is set to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on June 20.
