Rivers West District for Sport, Culture, and Recreation has announced the winners for its 2023 Volunteer Recognition Awards.

Some of the many recipients include Ali Beloud of North Battleford, who was recognized for his dedication coaching youth.

“The volunteering work I am doing with the children in our community is a real pleasure for me,” he told battlefordsNOW. “Seeing more kids getting involved in sports, soccer in particular, is a huge motivation for me to give more.”

The organization said in its release that recipients will be presented with their awards in person, at community celebrations, over the next few months.

The District will highlight the celebrations for the winners and their outstanding achievements on its social media and website throughout the coming year.

“Over the past year, our volunteers have gone above and beyond to grow sport, culture, and recreation in our district,” said Rivers West District for Sport, Culture & Recreation executive director Donna Johnston-Genest. “Thank you does not cover the immense gratitude we feel towards these individuals, organizations, and communities.
