UPDATE: RCMP provided an updated description of the suspect on April 6. He is described as in his early 20s, approximately 6-feet tall, with a slim build, wearing black pants and a white-and-black T-shirt.

Original Story

Police are asking for people’s assistance finding the suspect after a firearm was discharged Wednesday night in North Battleford.

Battlefords RCMP received a report of an armed male on 108 Street at about 9:10 p.m.

Police immediately responded at the location. After investigating, they determined the male was discharging a long-barrelled firearm into the air while walking on 108 Street toward 13 Avenue. No injuries were reported to police.

Battlefords RCMP continue to investigate.

Anyone with information, or who captured video in the 108 Street and 13 Avenue area between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Wednesday, is asked to call Battlefords RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
