Warm Up Centre in Meadow Lake sees good response
The temporary overnight Warm Up Centre in Meadow Lake has been helping those in need stay out of the cold this winter.
The venue is found at the Door of Hope drop in centre facility.
On average between 12 to 15 people usually come in from the cold to warm up on a nightly basis, since the service started at the end of last year.
“We opened it in December so our homeless in the community would have some place to go during these cold winter months,” Natanis Bundschuh, Meadow Lake Outreach Ministries executive director, said. “We are going to be winding up here at the end of March. After that, we’ll be closing. Hopefully, the weather is warm enough.”
