Missing man found deceased as RCMP open homicide investigation

A man reported missing last month has been found deceased inside a burning house and police are treating the death as a homicide.
The home, on 27th Street West in Battleford was destroyed by fire on Feb. 18. Investigators later found human remains from the home. With the help from the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, the victim has been identified as Gregory Cope, 32.
Cope was reported missing on Feb. 21.
Initial investigation has found that Cope died a result of a homicide and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating.
