Sask Baseball H.O.F. announces upcoming events for 2023

The Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum has released its schedule of important upcoming events for 2023.

First up will be the Selection Committee Meeting to determine the 2023 Sask. Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Class, April 16 at the Museum. Following the meeting at 9:30 a.m., the Hall and Museum’s Annual General Meeting will also be held that afternoon at 1 p.m.

The following month will be the Fifth Annual Spring Fling Barbecue, complete with games, door prizes, a raffle, and dinner, taking place May 26 at the Legion Hall.

The biggest event of the year – the 38^th Annual Induction Ceremony – will be Aug. 19 at the Alex Dillabough Centre.

Sept. 15 will be the ‘Ears and Beers’ Fundraiser at the Legion Hall; followed the next month by the annual Fall Meeting Oct. 15 at Smiley’s Buffet in Saskatoon.

The Volunteer Christmas Dinner, for those who have helped out throughout the year, will be held Dec. 13 at the Lions Hall; followed by the year-end Open House at the Museum Dec. 20.

President and CEO of the H.O.F. and Museum, Jane Shury said there’s lots to look forward to this year, which starts with getting the word out to the public early.

“It’s important to get this out early so people can put it on their calendar, and we’ll be ready to give them a really good time at our Ears and Beers, our Spring Fling and these events, and of course everything else we might come up with during the year as well,” Shury said.

“This year is going to be our 38^th annual induction, and in just two years we’re going to be celebrating 40 years, which is pretty awesome for a non-profit organization that has existed on operating costs funded by our fundraising projects, [and] donations and memberships from all across the province as well,” she said.
