City announces venue change for Kids’ Amazing Race due to cold

Families planning to attend the Kids’ Amazing Race as part of the City of North Battleford’s Wintertainment events, will want to note the new location.

The city is advising, due to the extreme cold weather forecast, the race slated for Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. will now take place inside, in the NationsWEST Field House turf-side area instead.

The event is aimed for children from six to 11 years old.

No sleds or crazy carpets are required now that the event will be held inside. Instead, kids can look forward to an afternoon tackling some fun inflatables and an obstacle course that will be set up for the race.

“[It] will make a great, warm substitute for the outdoor activities that were initially planned,” City of North Battleford public relations coordinator Candace Toma said in an email to battlefordsNOW.
