Battlefords Humane Society plans ‘Pies and Pints’ fundraiser

The Battlefords Humane Society is getting ready for an upcoming fundraiser called “Pies and Pints.”

The event will be held at the Armoury Brewing Company in North Battleford on Feb. 3.

The fundraiser includes pizza courtesy of Domino’s, and a live band, called Beer League, providing entertainment.

Battlefords Humane Society assistant manager Brandon Corbeil said it will be a fun way to have a night out and help the Humane Society at the same time.

He thanks the Armoury and Domino’s Pizza for partnering on the event with the Humane Society.

The doors to the event will open at 6 p.m., with the band starting at 7 p.m. As there will only be a limited number of spots available, people are encouraged to purchase their tickets early.

Tables include one beer per person and two pizzas for a table of four, or three pizzas for a table of six. The cost to attend is $150 per table of four, or $200 for a table of six.

“If one person wanted to go they would just need to find a few other friends they could split the table [cost] with,” Corbeil said.

Walk-ins to the venue will be available after 9 p.m.

Money raised from the fundraiser will go to help with operations costs for the local Humane Society.

“It’s extremely important for the Humane Society to have these fundraisers,” Corbeil said. “We rely on donations in order for us to stay afloat and be able to keep our doors open. So, the big fundraisers, and even the small fundraisers, they are very important to us. They go towards helping the animals, and making sure that they have a safe place to go when there are stray animals out on the street.”
