RCMP investigating sudden death at Meadow Lake care home

An altercation between two residents at a continuing care home in Meadow Lake resulted in one of the residents passing away. That’s according to information provided by the RCMP on Thursday.

The incident occurred Tuesday night. Following the altercation, staff located the injured victim— a 78-year-old man.

While staff assisted, the man went into medical distress and was pronounced deceased by EMS.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes continues to investigate and an autopsy on the deceased man is scheduled for the coming days.

No charges have been laid and investigators do not believe there is a risk to public safety.
