RCMP ask for public’s help to locate missing woman in North Battleford area

UPDATE: At 6:30 Thursday morning, RCMP confirmed that Niki Scott has been located.

Battlefords RCMP are asking for help to find a woman reported missing in the area.

Niki Scott, 18, was reported missing on the evening of Dec. 19. She was last seen on 103 Street in North Battleford.

She is described as being about 5-6 tall, with an average build and medium-length black hair dyed blonde in the back.

When last seen, Scott was wearing black sweats over yoga pants, a white shirt with a black and purple hoodie, and black boots. She is said to generally frequent the North Battleford area or the Saulteaux First Nation area.

DRUGS AND FIREARMS

In other news, for the week ending Dec. 20, Battlefords RCMP dealt with several incidents including drug and firearm-related charges following an investigation.

Police said a vehicle stopped at the 900 block of 101 Street in North Battleford at 9 p.m. on Dec. 15 resulted in charges.

Police recovered several firearms and a quantity of suspected methamphetamine in the incident. As a result, four people were arrested, three of whom have since been charged.

Two of the charged people were remanded into custody, and made their first court appearances on Dec. 19. Adrian Dreaver, 19, is facing charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of methamphetamine.

Keagan Jackson, 24, is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of an unauthorized firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and failing to comply with a release order.

In a separate incident, police responded after receiving a report of shots being fired at a home on the 800 block of 107 Street in North Battleford at about 11 a.m. on Dec. 18.

It was confirmed the home was struck at least once. The suspects then fled in a vehicle. The suspects’ vehicle was located a short time later at a home on 102 Street. RCMP reported seven people were arrested without incident. A firearm was also recovered by police who continue to investigate and charges have not yet been laid.

In another case, police responded after receiving a 911 call of a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road on Highway 4, south of Battleford, just before midnight on Dec. 15.

After finding the vehicle, police found the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver also provided police with a false name. A 57-year-old woman is facing charges of impaired driving, driving while over the legal limit, and identity fraud. She is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 13, 2023.

VEHICLE THEFTS

Also during the week, police investigated six separate vehicle thefts.

In one incident, a green 2005 Pontiac Montana with Saskatchewan licence plate 414-MDI was reported stolen from a home on the Sweetgrass First Nation on the morning of Dec. 20.

In another report, a van was reported stolen from 105 Street in North Battleford, shortly after 7 a.m. on Dec. 20. The vehicle was recovered later that morning and three 17-year-old youths were arrested. All three have since been charged with possession of stolen property. They are scheduled to make their first court appearances in the new year.
