The man who holds the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ all-time record for interception-return touchdowns is returning to the CFL team in 2023.

The Roughriders announced Wednesday that American defensive back Nick Marshall had signed a one-year contract extension. He could have become a free agent in February.

Marshall, a 30-year-old from Rochelle, Ga., has played in 60 regular-season games over four seasons with Saskatchewan. He has 119 career tackles and 15 interceptions, with a team-record five pick-sixes.

The 6-foot-1, 207-pounder had 24 tackles, five pass knockdowns and four interceptions in 16 games last season. His 90-yard pick-six against the Montreal Alouettes on July 2 set the club’s career record.
