Firefighters busy putting out garage fire Monday

UPDATE: The City advised at 1:40 p.m. Monday firefighters managed to put out the garage fire, with minor smoke damage to the attached home.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire. The cause of the blaze is still being determined. Drivers are asked to use caution when travelling on 105 Street due to increased icy road conditions resulting from the firefighting efforts.

Members of the North Battleford Fire Department were busy putting out a a garage fire Monday morning.

The City of North Battleford said in a release at 10:50 a.m. that crews had the fire under control but the fire chief advised visibility in the area was very poor due to the smoke from the blaze.

Pedestrians and motorists are advised to avoid the 1200 to 1300 blocks of 104and 105Streets in North Battleford Monday until further notice to allow for emergency response crews to complete containment of the scene.
