Amount of COVID in wastewater samples drops in North Battleford

Oct 17, 2022 | 2:37 PM

The level of COVID in North Battleford’s wastewater has decreased by over a third. The SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA load dropped 37.8 per cent compared to last week. Researchers consider the level of COVID found in the wastewater to be medium because it is a lower amount than the 10-week average. The report still characterizes the presence of COVID in North Battleford as high.

This is the twentieth-largest concentration recorded during the pandemic. Also noteworthy, researchers indicate that SARS-C0V-2 infection is reducing in North Battleford.

The amount of COVID reported is based on the averages of three individual daily measurements in the reporting period. Researchers at the University of Saskatchewan have been studying community wastewater since August 2021. Results are released weekly.
