Fashion show fundraiser to benefit Food Bank

Sep 8, 2022 | 11:37 AM

A fall fashion show fundraiser to help the local Food Bank in the Battlefords is planned for tonight.

Organizer Ronda Sayers said the event is a ladies-only night, with a show, dinner, and door prizes.

“It’s just an event for women to get out and get together, and have a little fun….,” she said. “We’re all there to support the food bank and try to raise some money.”

People are also asked to bring a non-perishable food item for donation.

“The Food Bank will be working the door because all of the door tickets will go 100 per cent to the Food Bank,” Sayers said. “They will also be there to collect the non-perishables.”

Several local businesses are also sponsoring the event to show their support.

Sayers said she got the idea for the event after attending a similar fundraiser while visiting the U.S. She hopes the local event will be a success.

“People can sit and relax, and meet people at their table,” she said. “I think we need more opportunities for that… The Food Bank has been very good and gracious in partnering with me to do this.”

The fashion show fundraiser will take place at the Blend Restaurant starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door.
